Just in time for Formnext 2024, AM Solutions - 3D post processing technology presents a further development of the proven S2 system. The innovative 2-in-1 solution enables fully automated batch processing of complete print jobs in 24/7 operation and combines the process steps of cleaning and surface finishing in a single system. A number of optimizations ensure increased efficiency and even better processing results. Based on their positive experience and convinced by the concept, the Italian company Weerg Srl. secured two of the new systems and an additional S1 at the show.
"We have made a very good product even better", says a delighted David Soldan, Head of AM Solutions - 3D post processing technology, when talking about the new S2 for fully automated cleaning and surface finishing of part batches from powder-based printing processes in 24/7 operation. "Direct feedback from our customers has played a key role. Our consistent focus on market requirements has once again proven its worth.â
25 % higher media throughput with improved process reliability
The further development of the S2 system achieves a 25 % increase in media throughput thanks to an optimized media cycle, resulting in increased efficiency and improved surface quality. At the heart of the new S2 is the proven PU continuous loop belt, which ensures gentle part handling and uniform blasting. In the new configuration, it also ensures increased process reliability and prevents overfeeding of parts. The continuous loop belt is ideal for transporting even the most fragile parts, whether they are inhomogeneous one-offs or serial parts.
Optimized cleaning process and improved user comfort
To control the shot blasting process even more efficiently, the new S2 system occasionally uses an additional blast nozzle. This is positioned to work against the opening and hold the part in place longer. This allows for more intensive processing and each part receives a uniform, homogeneous blast pattern - a decisive advantage for series production. As part of the Rösler Group, AM Solutions - 3D post processing technology has also used its extensive expertise in surface finishing to transfer the principle of drum separation to the new S2. Whereas previously a short sieve was used to recover the media, the rotation of the drum and the longer throughput distance now remove the media and dust deposits from the part even more efficiently. The result is a higher degree of cleaning, even at very high throughput. Ease of use has also been improved with an integrated waste container with level monitoring. When a vacuum cleaner is connected, the drum can now be emptied much more conveniently and quickly.
Weerg continues to rely on AM Solutions and invests in two new S2
The Italian company Weerg, Europe's largest e-commerce service provider with 100 % in-house production, has been relying on various post processing solutions from AM Solutions - 3D post processing technology with great success. A C1, S1, S2 and the 3D Automatic Unpacking Station developed together with HP are now in use. The resulting high level of automation reduces post processing time by up to two-thirds, while reducing manpower and optimizing quality. With such good results, it is not surprising that the company quickly became interested in the new S2 and has already put it through its paces. The 3D printing specialist was so impressed with the results that it purchased two systems at Formnext, in addition to another S1. "We already have several systems from AM Solutions - 3D post processing technology in use and have always been impressed by the quality and reliability. We therefore had high expectations for the further development of the S2 - and these have once again been fully met. We particularly appreciate the fact that AM Solutions works closely with its customers and takes our feedback seriously in order to continuously improve the machines and optimally adapt them to the needs of the marketâ, says Matteo Rigamonti, founder of Weerg. "We are delighted that Weerg is so enthusiastic about the enhanced S2 and is one of the first customers to purchase itâ, says David Soldan. "This allows us to further intensify our successful cooperation.â
